This night provided another opportunity to take advantage of the reef that gets exposed at extreme low tides. The luckiest part about this night, was the periodic swell that would give the incoming wave just enough energy to deposit some water onto the top of this shelf, creating the puddles and adding an exclamation point of drama to the sunset.
The years of waves and tides has removed the sand and soil from the roots of this tree. The exposed roots have grown thick with bark as a result of them being exposed to the elements. The struggle between the tree and the ocean is never ending, but the tree stays ahead of the curve, just barely.
Another intense sunset following a storm system.
